Loving the Unlovely

So, here I am. It’s taken me a while to get here, but eventually, I made it. And honestly, it’s been hard work—really hard work.
Teaching Grade 2 (and grade 1 English) has been something of a shock to the system and, language barriers aside, not all of the children are necessarily inclined to be… as compliant as one may wish.
However, it is still genuinely a privilege to serve these children as Christ first served me. For

“...while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5v8)

In my sin, I was more unlovely to God than these children will ever be to the world, yet still he loved me enough to die my death for me.
It is my hope and my sincere prayer this year that I would love as God has loved me, and show grace as he has shown grace to me. Most of all, I pray that God would use me as his instrument here to persuade these children to trust in Christ that they too may know and enjoy this great grace.
